I love immersive storytelling, where the soundtrack brings it to life. For a time in Seattle, I worked in a sound design studio called AUDISEE, where we created sound tracks for video and film, produced radio spots, and audiobooks. I also worked as an assistant editor on the Bill Nye the Science Guy—a show that set a trend for enhanced sound effects. Hence, my deep appreciation for sound in the art of telling stories.
Story Peace is a new podcast I’m posting on my Collective Effervescence Substack. I’m combining digital storytelling with the research topics I’ve been writing about here over the past year and a half. In keeping with the theme of Collective Effervescence, the stories in this new series are told in the context of the counterculture.
If you’re new to Collective Effervescence on Substack, please check out this series of articles about the Counterculture. My intention is to learn and share more about this social movement, the culture that created the counterculture, and challenge the hippie critique.
Story Peace, the podcast, is starting small, as a monthly series of short stories in sound. I’m pulling from my interview archives as well as recording new interviews with people from the movement who want to share their stories.
It would be wonderful to hear feedback on what you hear today.
